Disaster relief
Church response to floods, displacement, epidemics, and other emergencies, with place, date, and what was delivered.
Disaster relief is tied to an event. The entry should name the event (a flood year, a displacement crisis, an outbreak), the place, the body that responded, and what was delivered: people sheltered, bags of grain, clinics opened, cash grants. Those are separate measures.
Sources that carry weight here include the church body’s own situation report, NEMA or state emergency publications, and reporting that cites those documents. A single social-media appeal is a lead. It becomes an entry when a later report says what was actually done.
Do not roll many emergencies into one undated “churches are always first to respond” row. That sentence cannot be checked. A dated delivery in one state can.
Relief that continues into long-term welfare — a camp that becomes a home, a clinic that stays open — should be cross-referenced, not double-counted as both a historic relief figure and a current capacity figure without saying so.
