Dunamis builds pedestrian bridge on Abuja Airport Road
Dunamis International Gospel Centre funded a pedestrian bridge across the six-lane Airport Road in Abuja. FCT Minister Nyesom Wike commissioned it on 30 October 2026.
Airport Road in Abuja is a busy six-lane route, and pedestrians crossing near the Glory Dome, the headquarters of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, have long faced serious risks. The church says it applied to the Federal Capital Territory Administration in 2018 for permission to build a footbridge. According to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, approval came in February 2026, within a month of a reminder from the church. Construction started on 22 June 2026. Senior Pastor Paul Enenche said the contractor, Dutum Construction Company, finished in about four months and one week. The bridge was commissioned on Friday, 30 October 2026, with Wike, Dr Paul Enenche and Dr Becky Enenche present, as reported by Punch, The Guardian and the News Agency of Nigeria. Reports describe the bridge as fully funded by the church as part of its corporate social responsibility work. Dr Becky Enenche said the church had earlier run coaster buses to carry people across the road and had installed barriers to discourage dangerous crossings. Wike approved a request to add roofing and lighting, and one outlet reported that the FCT would refund half of the construction cost. The total cost has not been publicly disclosed in the coverage reviewed. The church also pointed to earlier roadworks in Mararaba, Karu and Kubwa and boreholes in Borno State.
